Trefawr Solar Farm Civils
Civil works package for a solar farm scheme in Wales, including internal ducting routes, transformer and switchroom foundations, HV cable installation, access track construction and earthing mat installation.
The challenge
The site was exposed to persistent adverse weather, with tight programme timescales driven by energisation dates. The original design presented constructability issues in places, requiring close collaboration to develop practical, buildable solutions without compromising performance.
Our approach
Our delivery team provided early constructability input, working with the designer and client to refine foundation layouts, duct routes and access arrangements. Works were sequenced to suit ground conditions and weather windows, with temporary access tracks installed first to protect the site and maintain progress. Safe digging practices and regular coordination meetings kept the programme on track.
Outcome
Delivered within budget and agreed programme, with all foundations, ducting and earthing mat installed to specification. The site was left clean and accessible, ready for energisation and panel installation.
